Me in minute or two

I am a lifetime native of Plainville Massachusetts, 57 years. In February 2017 the family packed up and moved to Bonita Springs Florida.

I was born in Attleboro MA on April 29th of 1960 with a life threatening medical complication called meconium ileus, which required surgery. I was operated on at 3 days old and spent the next couple months in a incubator. Meconium ileus is frequently a sign of Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Since my elder sister of 11 months, Penny, had recently been diagnosed with the CF, I was also tested and the results were positive. In the 60's the median life expectancy of a CF patient was early to mid 20's. My elder sister Penny passed at the age of 16, due to lung complications from CF.

Here I am now, at the age of 59, surviving numerous hospitalizations due to the complications of living with CF for my entire life. I've been hospitalized for lung infections, multiple intestinal surgeries, a double lung transplant, diabetes, kidney failure, dialysis, kidney transplant and recently open heart surgery. I have been on antibiotics and taken pancreatic enzymes daily for my entire life.
